Phase two of the Port Talbot West resignalling project starts this month, with commissioning in November, bringing a safer, more reliable railway - with some planned rail and road closures needed to complete the work safely.

Power supply upgrades have been completed as work progresses on Darlington station’s £140m transformational expansion project.

Batley station car park will close from 22 September until Summer 2026 to facilitate major upgrade work as part of the multi-billion-pound Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU).

Buses will replace trains between Guildford, Reigate and Gatwick Airport for two weeks, commencing Sunday 14 September through Saturday 27 September, due to critical signalling and level crossing upgrades.

Testing at speed of digital in-cab signalling has been successfully completed for the train which provides the largest inter-city fleet on the East Coast Main Line.
