Passengers travelling on the West Coast Main Line this Christmas are being urged to check before they travel ahead of a programme of major railway improvements.

Rail engineers are planning to upgrade the safety features of the level crossing on Meldreth Road, Cambridgeshire, as part of the wider re-signalling project over Christmas.

Network Rail will complete essential engineering work over seven days in Somerset next week, affecting passengers travelling through the Castle Cary area.

Network Rail will be carrying out vital upgrades west of Cardiff Central station between 24-31 December to keep the railway safe and reliable for passengers.
