Network Rail is celebrating International Day of Persons with Disabilities today (Tuesday, 3 December) by unveiling passenger usage figures for its new in-station navigation app for blind and partially sighted passengers and its pledge to make all its managed stations autism-friendly by the end of 2025.

Network Rail has achieved its first Fair Tax Mark accreditation from the Fair Tax Foundation, demonstrating the company’s commitment to responsible tax conduct.

• More than 1,532 bridges were struck by heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) in 2023/24 – one every six hours

• Network Rail urges lorry drivers to ‘Wise Up, Size Up’ by knowing the height of their vehicles and choosing suitable routes before they head out on journeys

• More than 95% of rail network open for business as normal, but some routes will be affected.

• Network Rail will be undertaking around 400 projects as part of a £142m upgrade programme over Christmas and New Year to improve your railway and provide better, more reliable services for passengers across Britain.
