Reminder: Majority of Britain’s railway open for business over August bank holiday weekend, but passengers urged to check before travelling

The vast majority of rail services will run as normal over this August bank holiday weekend, however, passengers are being urged to check before travelling as some journeys will be affected by upgrade and engineering work.

Thameslink and Great Northern impacted by digital signal tests

- East Coast Main Line passengers are urged to check before they travel due to pioneering digital signalling testing this August bank holiday.
- No Thameslink and Great Northern services will operate between Potters Bar and St Neots/ Royston, or between Hertford North and Stevenage on Sunday 25 August.
- Thameslink and Great Northern evening services from approximately 10pm on Saturday 24 August and early morning services on Monday 26 August until 9am, will also be affected.

- No long-distance trains will operate between St Neots and London King's Cross from 8pm on Saturday 24 to 8am on Monday 26 August.
- It’s part of continuing work on the £1.4bn East Coast Digital Programme.
