Improved towpath and Memorial Park footpath opens in Mirfield, creating greener route to local station
A newly resurfaced canal towpath and upgraded footpath around Mirfield’s memorial garden has officially opened today, offering the local community a greener, easier, safer, and more accessible route to the station.

Reduced timetable between London Waterloo, Yeovil Junction and Exeter St Davids from Monday 11 August
- South Western Railway will run a reduced timetable on services between London Waterloo and Exeter St Davids from Monday 11 August until further notice
- Trains will call at Crewkerne following a short period of connecting bus services to Yeovil Junction and Axminster
- The temporary timetable is designed to provide customers with a reliable service while trains adhere to speed restrictions
- ‘Soil moisture deficit’ in clay soil embankments has disturbed track levels, meaning trains cannot travel at full speeds
