Vital engineering work to impact services across Network Rail’s Wessex route this Christmas
- Network Rail will be undertaking a programme of work over Christmas and New Year to improve the railway and provide better, more reliable services for passengers across Britain.
- Key upgrade work between Basingstoke and Woking, Brockenhurst and Lymington Pier, and Trowbridge to Salisbury will result in changes to services.

Train services on the Lymington branch line resumed this morning (Monday 4 November) following a week-long closure for track vital upgrades.

Network Rail Wessex route director, Mark Goodall’s charity Cosy Coats is aiming to ensure every child going to school has a coat on their back and is kept warm this Winter.

STARTING TOMORROW: Engineering upgrades to close Lymington branch line
Vital work on the approach to Lymington Pier in Hampshire will mean that the Lymington branch line will be closed between Saturday 26 October and Sunday 3 November with buses replacing trains.
