A project to install 830 metres of new track will mean a weekend with no trains between Nottingham and Leicester.

Train services are running again on the Conwy Valley line after a £1.4 million programme to make the railway more reliable during extreme weather. 

Rail passengers are being encouraged to plan ahead for journeys between Edinburgh and Fife over nine days in January, while essential engineering work to electrify the line takes place.   

Southeastern and Southern passengers are being reminded to plan ahead from tomorrow if travelling on the Hastings line between Tunbridge Wells and Hastings, and between Bexhill-on-Sea and Hastings.

With just two weeks to go until major engineering work begins on the West Highland Line, passengers are being reminded to plan ahead for their journeys. 

Passengers in Berkshire and North Surrey will face changes to their journeys during the October half-term, starting tomorrow, Saturday 25 October and ending on Friday 31 October, while Network Rail carries out major upgrades on the lines between Wokingham and Reading as well as between Staines and Windsor, with buses replacing trains during the work.

Starting tomorrow, buses will replace trains between Guildford and Havant as Network Rail engineers complete the final stage of the Portsmouth Direct signalling upgrade between Farncombe and Petersfield.

Oxford is set to benefit as the Cowley Branch Line is brought back into use for passenger trains, connecting Cowley and Littlemore with the rail network for the first time since 1963 to offer faster, greener travel options for thousands of residents and workers across the city.
