Passengers travelling through Cornwall next month are asked to check their journeys ahead of Network Rail’s engineering work.

Newquay has a second platform in operation for the first time in 38 years today (Tuesday 18 November) as trains return to the branch line after Network Rail’s engineering work.

• Routes between London Paddington and Swansea via Bristol Parkway & London Paddington to Bristol Temple Meads via Swindon are currently closed owing to flooding, with severe disruption expected to last for the rest of today
• Passengers are advised not to attempt to travel on these routes
• Tickets dated for today will be accepted on services tomorrow (Saturday 15^th November) and Sunday

Passengers at St Erth can now enjoy step-free access for the first time after a new footbridge with lifts was officially opened this morning (Fri 14^th November) by Rail Minister Lord Hendy.

Passengers are advised to check before they travel on Friday (14 November) and throughout the weekend as Storm Claudia is expected to bring significant heavy rain to the south west.

Passengers planning to travel between Barnstaple and Crediton in the coming days are being urged to check before travelling as services on the line have been suspended owing to flooding.

Rail passengers are being asked to plan their journeys between Newquay and Par in advance as services will now be impacted until Tuesday 18 November to allow the final stage of engineering work for Mid Cornwall Metro (MCM) to be completed.

Network Rail’s four-day track replacement between Bristol and Bath is complete. On Monday (27 October) engineers began work installing new rail, sleepers and stone through St Anne’s tunnel, working around the clock and finishing the job in the early hours of this morning (Friday 31 October), as planned.
