Network Rail issues new trespass safety warning as summer holiday season begins
Network Rail is urging people to stay off the tracks and not put themselves and others at risk new safety figures reveal that there were more than 19,300 trespass incidents on the rail network (2,682 on the Wessex route) in the 2023/24 financial year – that’s one every half an hour.

Island Line and Ryde Pier set to close for vital maintenance
- - The Island Line will close from Ryde Pier Head to Shanklin between Friday 6 September and Sunday 6 October for vital maintenance
- - Ryde Pier will close from Friday 6 September 2024 until May 2025 while life extension work continues
- - One train every 30 minutes will operate between Ryde Esplanade and Shanklin from Monday 7 October to early May 2025
- - Rail replacement bus services will operate during both closures

Walking from Woking to London Waterloo for Railway Children
A team of colleagues from Network Rail recently took part in a 28-mile walk from Woking station to London Waterloo to raise money for Railway Children, raising over £3,500 to date.
