Network Rail is urging motorists to leave extra time for their journeys as key upgrade work to Moss level crossing takes place.

Network Rail teams are continuing to work hard to repair the landslip at Aycliffe, near Darlington, but the complex nature of the fix and the landscape of the site has meant the work has taken longer to complete than expected.

Network Rail expects rail services on the East Coast Main Line to return to normal from Tuesday after a landslip has caused disruption near Darlington.

• There will be an extremely limited train and replacement bus service between London and Peterborough, Cambridge, and Kings Lynn
• Buses will run to key stations only and many stations will not be served for the whole day
• Passengers urged to consider travelling a day earlier if possible
