Great Northern and Thameslink passengers are being reminded to plan ahead and check before they travel if they intend on using the East Coast Main Line to and from London over the August Bank Holiday weekend as key engineering work for the billion-pound East Coast Digital Programme (ECDP) takes place.

Dog walkers sitting their pets on the tracks for photos, youths doing one-armed push ups and parents letting toddlers play on live railway lines, is just some of the incredibly dangerous behaviour caught on covert cameras this year at footpath level crossings in Worcestershire.

Network Rail has secured planning permission for the construction of the new Leven station as part of the £116m Scottish Government-funded Levenmouth Rail Link project.

Buses will replace trains for four days, from Monday 14 August, on the line between Twyford and Henley-on-Thames, as Network Rail carries out vital track improvements.
