Network Rail has today announced plans to work with rolling stock owner and asset manager, Porterbrook, to showcase some of the best of British low-carbon train technology at the UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26), which will be held in Glasgow later this year. 

Passengers and the public now have a new outdoor seating area at Birmingham New Street station. 

• New lifts to platforms for TfL Rail, District and Central lines on London Underground and Great Western Railway services
• Station improvements completed by Network Rail also include new ticket office, gatelines and customer information screens
• Step-free access to be provided at Southall, Hayes & Harlington and West Drayton later this year

As part of the Scottish Government’s on-going investment in Scotland’s Railway, Network Rail is delivering a new £33m train depot and staff accommodation facilities within the existing Cadder railway yard, between Bishopbriggs and Lenzie.

The main stage of work on a major project to fully reconstruct Manton railway bridge, which is over 150 years old, is fast approaching.

Network Rail is helping to protect snakes and lizards which have made the railway their home in Cumbria.

Network Rail has joined forces with celebrated street artist Lionel Stanhope and the Sunray Egmont Community Residents Association (SECRA) to brighten up communities across South West London.

Network Rail will replace track and improve drainage on the c2c line between London and Shoeburyness next month (June) to improve reliability.
