Rail passengers are being thanked for their patience after further work to test 21st century digital signalling systems on the East Coast Main Line impacted journeys over the weekend. 

A super-sized suitcase is helping to remind passengers at King’s Cross to beware of bag thieves – as the station returns to pre-Covid visitor numbers.

A familiar and classic train became a new addition to digital signalling in-cab testing runs on the East Coast Main Line at the weekend.

TRU has entered a programme-wide partnership with the Lighthouse Charity – a charity dedicated to providing emotional, physical and financial wellbeing support to the construction worker community.

• Thameslink and Great Northern services between London and Peterborough/King’s Lynn will be affected, with rail replacement bus services in place.

On Friday (22 November), TRU completed a series of rail upgrades between Dewsbury and Leeds. Spanning five weeks – excluding weekends – engineers worked around the clock, whilst colleagues from TPE and Northern kept customers on the move via diversionary routes and rail replacement services. 

Almost a year to the day since work began, progress at Huddersfield station as part of the Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) continues.
