Services on the Shepperton line re-opened in the early hours of 31 July after Network Rail completed two weeks of intense improvement work as part of its £6.5m upgrade to the drainage system at Fulwell in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames.

Network Rail is inviting residents to a drop-in session to find out more about proposals to close and replace Chandler’s Ford level crossing in Eastleigh with a stepped footbridge as part of the organisation’s Railway Upgrade Plan to provide a bigger, better, more reliable railway for passengers and businesses.

Network Rail will begin work to extend the platforms and install a new, accessible footbridge at Virginia Water station on Sunday (17 July), providing better journeys for passengers as part of the organisation’s Railway Upgrade Plan.

Network Rail is reminding passengers to check before they travel between 16-30 July, as it carries out work to address the recurring issue of flooding on the line between Fulwell and Shepperton, particularly at the Fulwell Tunnel, as part of its Railway Upgrade Plan.

Network Rail will begin work to extend the platforms at Chertsey station on Sunday, 10 July, allowing longer trains to call at the station as part of the organisation’s Railway Upgrade Plan.

Network Rail has unveiled its new railway bridge over Aldershot High Street, alongside representatives from the Aldershot Garrison, Aldershot F.C. and Rushmoor Borough Council who were representing Sir Gerald Howarth, MP.

Network Rail has given students from the City of London Academy first-hand experience of driving trains and operating signalling equipment as part of the inaugural Rail Week.

Network Rail and South West Trains are reminding passengers and those living near the railway to find out more about upcoming work to improve drainage and reduce the risk of flooding between Fulwell and Shepperton.
