Network Rail has completed three weekends of work at Waterloo to replace key sections of track as part of its Railway Upgrade Plan for a better railway for passengers.

Passengers planning to travel over the Easter bank holiday weekend are being advised to check before they travel while Network Rail invests £4 million in making the railway in south London more reliable.

Passengers planning to travel between Poole and Wareham over the Easter bank holiday weekend (14-17 April) , or the weekend of the 22 & 23 April, are being advised to check before they travel while Network Rail upgrades the railway’s sea defences in Holes Bay, Poole Harbour.

Network Rail is advising passengers in the Guildford area to ‘Check Before You Travel’ over two full weekends and two Sundays in April and May while it invests £800,000 to renew important sections of track to make journeys more reliable.

Network Rail is inviting users of Vauxhall station to find out more about upcoming station upgrade work which will reduce congestion during peak periods and make it easier for passengers to board and alight trains.

Network Rail has kicked off its campaign to increase the number of females employed on Britain’s railways with an event at Ash Manor School in Surrey, which is designed to show teenage girls the enormous breadth of careers available in engineering and the wider railway industry.
