STARTING MONDAY: Essential engineering work to close Heart of Wessex Line for a week
From Monday 10 March to Sunday 16 March, train services will change on the Heart of Wessex Line with no trains running between Yeovil Pen Mill and Castle Cary for a week, while Network Rail complete vital improvements to the railway in the Yeovil area.

TWO WEEKS TO GO: Vital engineering works on the Windsor line to close railway for a week
This Saturday marks two weeks to go until the start of critical railway upgrades between Staines and Windsor.

KENT: Lineside neighbours across Kent and south east London to benefit from new digital notification service
Local residents who live near to the railway are set to benefit from a new digital service that will let people know about upcoming railway engineering work, emergency work and get updates about current maintenance and upgrade projects in ‘real-time’.

NEXT MONTH: Passengers urged to plan ahead this Easter as essential engineering work takes place across the railway in south London, Kent and Sussex
While 90% of the railway remains open over Easter, Network Rail will carry out essential engineering work on parts of the network in the south east.

NEXT MONTH: Major engineering work across the south coast to impact services in Southampton, Portsmouth and Bournemouth during the Easter holidays
- Services between Southampton and Portsmouth will not run for between 12 and 20 April 2025
- Weekend closures between Southampton Central and Bournemouth to impact Main Line services
- Buses will replace all trains from Southampton Central on Easter Sunday
- Line connecting Twickenham and Teddington, in south west London, to be closed for three days over the Easter weekend. Rail replacement buses will run.

- Rail staff join Samaritans volunteers at stations across Sussex and Surrey
- Two in five of the UK (44%) say they sometimes find themselves struggling to cope.
- 67% of the UK we would appreciate someone checking on them, offering words of support, if they were struggling to cope.
- 40% of people admit to having avoided someone who didn't look OK because they were afraid of having to make small talk with them.
