A new team of safeguarding patrollers is being deployed across central Scotland to improve safety, support vulnerable individuals, and promote wellbeing at stations where it’s needed most.

Network Rail is preparing to begin essential vegetation management work along the railway between Wemyss Bay and Inverkip, involving clearing overgrown trees and plants that could pose a risk to trains and passengers.

Network Rail is set to undertake an extensive programme of vital tree and vegetation management work, which will also open up even more incredible views on one of the world’s most scenic routes.  

A new and unique exhibition train will visit Scotland this October as part of a national celebration of the 200th anniversary of the modern railway called Railway 200.

Work is now complete on a £3m project to raise the platforms at Dunkeld and Birnam station, significantly improving accessibility and safety for passengers at the historic Perthshire stop.  

Part of the Far North Line will close this Sunday for three weeks to allow major upgrades to take place. 

Efforts to improve safety at Broughty Ferry level crossing are being stepped up this week, as Network Rail and British Transport Police work together to raise awareness and encourage safe behaviour from both pedestrians and drivers.
