For the first time in over 50 years passengers could soon travel directly between Oxford and Bedford, and Milton Keynes and Aylesbury, unlocking the region’s housing potential and transforming the lives of residents for generations to come as the East West Rail project moves a step closer today (27 July).

Alarming new figures reveal more than a quarter of teenagers (27%) confess to behaving in a way that could endanger their life on the railway. One in 10 teenagers admitted to walking along the railway line - more than two fifths of those (42%) in the last year¹.

Network Rail is inviting law firms to bid to be its legal advisers from 1 May 2019 until at least 2024.

Children living between Walsall and Rugeley are being urged to stay off the railway as part of the upgrade of the line between the two towns.
