Network Rail is urging passengers in South Kent travelling between Tunbridge Wells and Hastings this Easter to plan ahead and leave more time for their journeys while vital embankment improvements are completed over a nine-day period.

Network Rail has kicked off construction of a new footbridge and lifts at Bexley station which will provide passengers with a fully accessible station.

MP Tracey Crouch joined friends from the community and the railway to celebrate the official opening of Chatham station’s £5.8m lifts and footbridge, providing step-free access between the station entrance, ticket office and platforms.
