The East Coast Digital Programme has taken a big step forward with the renewal of infrastructure successfully commissioned that now enables the Welwyn to Hitchin (W2H) ETCS overlay to be tested and proven, with engineers having worked around the clock between 17-20 February. W2H is Britain’s first instance of infrastructure commissioning towards a ‘no signals’ intercity mainline.

In a big step forward for the East Coast Digital Programme (ECDP), new technology has now been successfully commissioned between Welwyn Garden City and Hitchin, bringing digital signalling on the East Coast Main Line a step closer.

Network Rail engineers are working to remove more than 2,500 tonnes of soil at the site of a landslip in Baildon as efforts continue to reinstate train services in the area.

The Transpennine Route Upgrade are encouraging passengers to check before they travel as engineers complete five days of work across the Transpennine Route. 

Network Rail will be carrying out major upgrades to the Midland Main Line across four weekends in February and March resulting in some changes to East Midlands Railway (EMR) and Thameslink services.

Passengers are being advised that changes are being made to walking routes at Darlington station as major improvement work continues.

Network Rail teams are working around the clock at the site of a landslip in Baildon to reinstate train services as quickly as possible.

Network Rail engineers will be carrying out an extensive programme of engineering work at Keadby sliding bridge, near Scunthorpe, which will result in changes to train services through the area.
