A charity photoshoot in York organised by colleagues at Network Rail has raised £3,000 to support Yorkshire-based charity, Martin House Children’s Hospice.

Over 100 colleagues from Network Rail will be working around the clock this festive period to carry out key upgrades to the railway in Hadley Wood.

The Transpennine Route Upgrade has today (14 December) launched a new book along with author Chris Madeley.

Network Rail and train operators are reminding passengers to plan ahead and check before travelling as further upgrade work for the billion-pound East Coast Digital Programme (ECDP) takes place on Christmas Eve.

• Cambridge South station and signalling improvement work continue, affecting journeys between Cambridge North and Royston from Wednesday 27 December to Monday 1 January

Teams from Network Rail will be giving up spending the festive period with their families to deliver vital upgrades to the railway in North Yorkshire.

Over the festive period, teams from Network Rail will be working to upgrade the track through Doncaster railway station which will provide smoother and more reliable journeys for passengers.

Network Rail will be investing £250,000 into boosting railway reliability in Hertfordshire this Christmas.
