Huge package of reliability improvements coming to Anglia’s rail network this Easter
A huge package of improvements will be carried out across Anglia’s busy rail network this Easter which will result in fewer delays and provide a more efficient rail service to passengers in the region.

Wherry lines fully re-open following completion of 23 days of engineering works
The line between Norwich and Lowestoft re-opened today following the completion of track works in the Hassingham area to improve journey reliability for passengers.

Billericay Landslip - Normal service expected to resume on Monday 24 February
On the morning of Wednesday 19 February, a landslip caused damage to the tracks between Billericay and Wickford on the Southend Victoria line. Ballast, the stones that help keep tracks safely in place, had fallen away under a section of track.
Network Rail’s engineers are working to repair the damage to the tracks and the embankment. With the line already planned to close this weekend for overhead line upgrade work, we expect all repairs to be completed for normal service to resume on Monday 24 February.

Landslip at Billericay to cause disruption to passenger services on the Southend Victoria line

The Gospel Oak to Barking line has reopened today (Wednesday 19 February) following completion of extensive repairs following a derailed freight wagon.

UPDATE: Gospel Oak to Barking line freight derailment – Line to reopen Wednesday 19 February
Following good progress by engineers over the weekend, despite Storm Dennis, services on the Gospel Oak to Barking line are expected to resume on Wednesday 19 February.

New signalling system introduced on the Wherry lines
Over 130 years of signalling history came to an end today on the Wherry lines with the reopening of the Norwich to Yarmouth line following completion of work to introduce a new computerised signalling system, improving reliability of train services. A section of the East Suffolk line from Beccles to Lowestoft also reopened today.
