A striking piece of artwork intends to inspire rail passengers as they travel into London Liverpool Street station.

Passengers in the Clacton-on-Sea area will benefit from a significant upgrade in reliability and safety when a computer-based signalling system goes live as Network Rail continues major upgrade work, including a 23-day stretch of intensive engineering works starting later this month.

Network Rail has completed its work to replace two bridges in Norfolk this weekend (31 January), making them stronger and safer than before, to maintain a safe and reliable rail service across Anglia.

Full services have resumed between Norwich and London this morning (Monday 1 February) following works to stabilise the tracks at Ingatestone over the last week.

Emergency works to stabilise the embankment at Ingatestone on the Great Eastern Main Line will continue this weekend and the rail line is expected to fully reopen to services on Monday 1 February.

The lights outside one of London Liverpool Street station’s main entrances have been turned purple today, Wednesday 27 January, to mark Holocaust Memorial Day.
