Rail passengers travelling between Ely and Peterborough will benefit from a more reliable service following wheel timber renewals across four bridges near Manea, starting Saturday 11 September 2021.

Network Rail has submitted a Transport and Works Act Order (TWAO) application to seek deemed planning permission to build the new station and associated infrastructure which will serve the southern fringe of Cambridge and the biomedical campus.

Network Rail is issuing a warning on International Level Crossings Awareness Day to remind people to use level crossings safely as new figures show that 81 incidents have already occurred in the Anglia region since the start of the year.

Network Rail has installed new equipment at ten level crossings across Anglia to make them safer.

Signalling apprentice, Thomas Briggs, based at Saxmundham in Suffolk, has become Network Rail’s 3000th apprentice since the apprenticeship levy launched in April 2017. The levy was introduced by the government to fund new apprenticeships, creating opportunities for school leavers like Thomas and helping to develop the existing workforce.

Network Rail has completed essential track works over the Bank Holiday weekend on the Great Eastern Main Line to reduce the number of delays and cancellations between Norwich and London.

Network Rail will replace track and improve drainage on the c2c line between London and Shoeburyness next month (June) to improve reliability.
