Network Rail is inviting the public to comment on proposals and options to increase rail capacity through Ely as part of a six-week consultation from 24 May 2021.

Passengers travelling into London on the Great Eastern Main Line and Southend lines are urged to check before they travel next month (May) as planned upgrades will be carried out to improve reliability.

Network Rail staff were called out to Queen Adelaide village in Ely on Wednesday 7 April at 9:45am after reports of sheep making a wrong turning at the level crossing and taking a short-cut down the Ely to Peterborough rail line.
