Network Rail is using the hoardings erected for Edinburgh Waverley’s platform extension project to highlight the work of leading charities and the NHS.

Passengers in Kent and South East London are being thanked for their patience this week while their journeys change as Network Rail continues to rebuild London Bridge station and the surrounding railway, as part of the Thameslink Programme.

Public information sessions will take place during early September at every station on the Gospel Oak to Barking line, ahead of its closure for electrification work.

Southeastern passengers diverted to and from London Blackfriars today (Tuesday 29 August) have been thanked for their patience following confirmation that the affected trains – 40 in total each day – will run to and from Waterloo as planned from tomorrow (Wednesday) and for the remainder of the working week.

Passengers on trains travelling between Ely and Peterborough are travelling over a much stronger and reliable railway bridge over the Briggate River in Whittlesey, Peterborough today, following its installation over the August bank holiday weekend.

New overhead wire was installed at Brentwood this weekend, to improve reliability on the main line between Norwich and London as part of Network Rail’s Railway Upgrade Plan.
