Work to demolish the old station platforms at Cameron Bridge is now complete.

Some of Network Rail’s busiest London stations have teamed up with housing and homelessness charity Shelter to help people sleeping rough.

Network Rail thanks customers for their patience after five days of work protecting the railway from landslips on the West of England line between Axminster and Pinhoe.

Further changes are being introduced on the rail route between King's Lynn, Cambridge and London King's Cross from Monday 26 September, while work takes place to repair track defects caused by the recent heatwave.

Network Rail has completed one mile of boundary fencing renewals with a difference on Glasgow’s south side.

This weekend, Network Rail engineers will be working around the clock to replace around one mile of old 1950s-style track between Maiden Newton and Chetnole in Cattistock on the Heart of Wessex line. 

For one week this September, Network Rail signaller Wayne Dixon, based in Exeter, will be swapping trains for two wheels as he takes up the challenge of a 359-mile sponsored cycle ride, raising money for Rowcroft Hospice in Torquay.

• With the RMT, Aslef and TSSA coordinating strike action on Saturday 1 October, only around 11% of services will operate, and in some parts of the country there will be no trains at all
• Train drivers at 14 operators are also walking out on Wednesday 5 October, meaning disruption for passengers on those routes
• The RMT is then staging another walkout on Saturday 8 October
• Special timetables for 1 and 5 October will be published on National Rail Enquiries next week, while the timetable for 8 October will be published early the following week (w/c 3 October)
• With trains starting later and finishing much earlier than usual, passengers are asked to only travel by rail if absolutely necessary. Those who must travel should expect disruption, plan ahead and check when their last train will depart
