Network Rail will begin major engineering work this weekend on the Far North Line with £6m worth of upgrades planned.  

Passengers are being reminded of essential engineering work taking place on the North Wales railway between Chester and Llandudno Junction from the early hours of Saturday 6 June and reopening in the early hours of Monday 8 June.

Passengers are being reminded about changes to trains between Birmingham New Street and Coleshill Parkway over the next two weekends while major HS2 work takes place in the Saltley and Washwood areas of Birmingham.

Network Rail, in partnership with heliguy™, has secured approval from the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to operate drones beyond the operator’s line of sight (BVLOS), marking a significant step forward in the use of remote aerial technology across the rail network.

As part of the investment to make Chalkwell station step-free, customers will start to see changes to walking routes to access the platforms from the ticket hall in preparation for the removal of the existing station footbridge. 

Railway improvement work taking place between Leicester and Kettering will affect journeys over the next two weekends (6-7 and 13-14 June).
