Passengers are being urged to check before they travel on the Cambrian line ­from mid-March to early April when Network Rail will be carrying out a range of work across a 16-day period.

As part of Railway 200 – a national celebration of the 200^th anniversary of the modern railway – a new and unique exhibition train is due to be a major attraction at The Greatest Gathering, hosted by train builder Alstom at its Derby Litchurch Lane Works from 1 to 3 August.

A unique exhibition train touring the country to mark 200 years of the modern railway will make stops along and near the East Coast Main Line.

• Bicentenary train, Inspiration, will visit Waterloo 18 & 19 July as one of 60 locations across Britain over 12 months, promoting rail innovation and careers
• Inspiration will also visit Margate station (20-21 July) and Bluebell Railway (23-29 July) across Network Rail’s Southern region.

Network Rail and the Bluebell Railway have signed an agreement which will see further collaboration between the two organisations – the first of its kind with a heritage railway in the south of England.
