A mother has thanked railway staff after her three-year-old’s cuddly toy monkey was lost and ended up on a 600-mile railway adventure even Paddington Bear would be proud of.

Network Rail has announced the awarding of £61.5m worth of contracts for the delivery of the East Kilbride Enhancement Project.

Those hoping for a late Christmas getaway are being advised to plan ahead as engineering work is set to impact services, with trains to and from Paddington also disrupted this Sunday (26 November). 

Network Rail has achieved a significant milestone on the £63.3m Glasgow-Barrhead electrification project with the first electric test train running on the route.

Grainger plc, the UK’s largest listed residential landlord with over 10,000 operational rental homes, today announces that it has agreed to enter a partnership with ‘blocwork’, Network Rail’s joint venture with the Bloc Group.

Network Rail will shortly begin a £1.2 million programme of work to renew Platform 1 at Giffnock station in East Renfrewshire.

Over the last week railway engineers worked around the clock to upgrade two railway bridges in Runcorn, helping to protect and preserve them for years to come.
