The £5m project to improve accessibility for passengers at Port Glasgow station has reached a major milestone as a ramp at the Princes Street entrance is now complete.

Great Northern and Thameslink passengers intending to travel to and from London on the East Coast Main Line over the August Bank Holiday weekend (26-28 August 2023) are being asked to plan ahead and check how their journey may be affected.

Major upgrade work on the Trent Valley line to improve future rail journeys for passengers and freight services is now complete.

Network Rail, alongside contractors, Colas Rail, will be installing new track, over four consecutive weekends, between Wrexham Central and Wrexham General stations to help improve reliability of the line. 

The start of a nine-day period of intensive track and signalling work around Oxford station begins on 29 July, supporting an increase in train services and ushering in a new era in passenger and freight train travel for the city and wider county. 

Passengers are being advised to check before they travel ahead of work to improve future journeys on an important railway corridor through the West Midlands.
