Improving performance with Southern and Thameslink
Network Rail, Govia Thameslink Railway and Southern are working together to improve performance on one of the most congested railways in the country.

Media statement - Harbury tunnel landslip - update 1 Feb
At around 3pm yesterday (Saturday 31 January), there was an extremely significant landslip in the Harbury area between Leamington Spa and Banbury affecting both train lines and the tunnel.
After an initial assessment it is estimated that around 350,000 tonnes of material will need to be removed and the line between Leamington Spa and Banbury will have to remain closed for at least one week to allow for an investigation to determine the scale of the problem.

Brighter start to the day for pedestrians using Highfield Lane footpath in Maidenhead
Pedestrians using the footpath over the railway line at Highfield Lane in Maidenhead will notice that it is significantly brighter from today following the installation of a mural designed by pupils from Cox Green School.

Ashford Bowdler level crossing upgrade will make it safer for community
Network Rail is to upgrade and improve safety at Ashford Bowdler level crossing. The upgrade, which will see the current half barriers replaced by full barriers, is part of a £75 million project to modernise the railway between Newport and Shrewsbury, with new signalling technology installed along the route.

Campaign to improve safety at Pinhoe level crossing in Exeter
Local residents and other users of Pinhoe level crossing will be learning to stay safe on the railway during a campaign organised by Network Rail and British Transport Police (BTP).

Photography exhibition at Waterloo extended for a month
Passengers and station visitors at Britain's busiest station, London Waterloo, will have an extra month to enjoy the Landscape Photographer of the Year Awards exhibition, currently on the station mezzanine, as huge popularity has led the station team to extend its run for a month until the end of February. Dozens of images of the winners and commended entries from this year's competition are being exhibited, including the winner of the Network Rail sponsored 'Lines in the Landscape' award, which rewards the best image taken of Britain’s railway network.

Thameslink services to resume through central London tomorrow (Friday) following week of floods in tunnel
A full Thameslink train service will begin running between St Pancras and Farringdon again tomorrow morning (Friday) following flooding in a railway tunnel under Clerkenwell.
