The A3102 in Royal Wootton Bassett is set to reopen on 20 April 2017 following the reconstruction of the Bath Road bridge, paving the way for a new fleet of electric trains.

Oxfordshire residents will benefit from a safer way to cross the railway following the opening of a new footbridge near Uffington by Network Rail.  

Passengers travelling to or from Bath Spa station are advised to check before they travel as Network Rail are set to start a £15m upgrade this weekend which will allow for new larger more comfortable trains to call at the station from later this year.

A major programme of work to modernise the Great Western Mainline this Easter will see platforms at Bath Spa station widened in preparation for longer trains providing over a fifth more seats for passengers.

Residents living near Roman Road bridge in Swindon have been invited to a drop-in event to find out more about upcoming work to prepare the Great Western Main Line for electrification. This forms part of Network Rail’s Railway Upgrade Plan to provide a bigger, better, more reliable railway for passengers.

Residents of Oxford have been invited to find out more about upcoming work to improve the movement of trains and passengers through the area.

The final stage of work to clear vegetation near the railway between Penryn and Falmouth is set to take place later this month, completing a six-month period of work to make the railway safer and more efficient.
