Network Rail are seeking new recruits across Surrey and London to embark on an exciting, rewarding career in the rail industry and make a difference every day to the millions of passengers who use the south western rail network each year.

The first major milestone of Network Rail’s drive to put passengers first has been marked today with the formation of a new Southern region, which will benefit from a record investment of more than £6 billion over the next five years to improve train services for passengers. 

Following a recent series of illegal trespass incidents across the country, Network Rail and British Transport Police are warning rail enthusiasts to keep off the railway this week when the iconic steam locomotive Flying Scotsman visits Surrey, Hampshire and Wiltshire.

Students from Dove House School Academy have become the first in the country to gain accredited rail safety qualifications as part of a new safety initiative from Network Rail.

Passengers are being advised to plan their journeys in advance over this bank holiday weekend as Network Rail prepares to undertake vital work to improve reliability of rail infrastructure.

Network Rail and the British Transport Police have warned drone pilots to keep away from the railway or risk being taken to court and facing a £2,500 penalty following an incident in Surrey earlier this month.  

Children from two local schools joined representatives from Network Rail and Richmond Council to open the borough’s newest footbridge over White Hart Lane level crossing.

Network Rail has today published final plans to put passengers at the heart of an investment of more than £2 billion across the Wessex route – covering all services out of London Waterloo station and freight services out of the Port of Southampton - over the next five years.
