Network Rail and the British Transport Police have warned drone pilots to keep away from the railway or risk being taken to court and facing a £2,500 penalty following an incident in Surrey earlier this month.  

Children from two local schools joined representatives from Network Rail and Richmond Council to open the borough’s newest footbridge over White Hart Lane level crossing.

Network Rail has today published final plans to put passengers at the heart of an investment of more than £2 billion across the Wessex route – covering all services out of London Waterloo station and freight services out of the Port of Southampton - over the next five years.

Passengers travelling on South Western Railway tomorrow (Saturday 16^th March) are advised to check their journeys before travelling as a blanket 50mph speed restriction will be imposed across the network from 10am until 9pm owing to the forecasted severe weather.

Network Rail have teamed up with security experts Land Sheriffs to reduce incidents which can cause delays on the railway and bring better, more reliable services for South Western Railway passengers.

Passengers at London Waterloo station, which handles almost 100 million journeys each year, are now benefitting from more up to date, real time travel advice as station staff have been issued with mobile technology to help them better guide people on their journeys.

The public toilets at the busiest railway station in the country are free to use from today, as Network Rail continues to put passengers first.

With half-term beginning for most of the region today, Network Rail is urging young people to stay safe by staying off the railway.
