Fans of the famous Flying Scotsman are being urged to keep off the tracks when the steam engine travels through Wales this week.

Work to upgrade the footbridge at Llanfairpwll station on the North Wales coastline has been completed as part of Network Rail’s Railway Upgrade Plan, to deliver a bigger and better railway for passengers.

Across Britain, one person trespasses on the railway every hour, putting their lives in danger.

The Conwy Valley line reopens to passengers today after Network Rail engineers carried out extensive repairs following Storm Doris damage.

Welsh Government Economy and Infrastructure Secretary, Ken Skates AM joined Andy Thomas, route managing director for Network Rail Wales, to see how railway improvements are benefiting North Wales.

Network Rail is inviting North Wales residents to a drop-in event to learn more about how Tyn Y Morfa level crossing, near Prestatyn, will be modernised as part of Network Rail's Railway Upgrade Plan. 

South Wales passengers planning to travel over the weekend of Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 April 2017 are advised that no trains will be operating between Cardiff Central and Cardiff Queen Street stations.
