On World Menopause Day (Wednesday 18^th October), Network Rail is aiming to break the stigma of menopause and help keep people in work by offering support, guidance and making reasonable adjustments in the workplace.

Network Rail has joined digital charity Mental Health Innovations and the wider rail industry to remind the public that help is just a text message away this World Mental Health Day (Tuesday 10 October).

A first-of-its-kind partnership between the Severn Valley Railway and Network Rail has been set up, signalling the start of an innovative relationship between the past and present railway.

• The majority of the rail network will be open as usual over the forthcoming August bank holiday weekend (Sat 26th to Monday 28th August), however, industrial action means services in England and some cross-border journeys into Scotland and Wales will be significantly disrupted on Saturday 26 August.

• As the level of disruption will vary across the country, passengers should check their travel arrangements in advance. Timetables are now live, so those travelling over the bank holiday can check the status of their journey at nationalrail.co.uk or with their train operator

Automated inspection, acoustic monitoring using fibre optic cables and other technological improvements are among the developments being worked on as part of a partnership between British railway infrastructure company Network Rail and its Dutch equivalent, ProRail.

Jake Kelly, currently the company’s system operator director, has been appointed as the new managing director of its Eastern region, starting the role on 4 September.
