This winter, weekend engineering work on the Great Eastern and Southend Victoria/Southminster lines are planned to take place which will help keep the railway operating safely for Greater Anglia and Elizabeth line passengers.

Engineers have completed track and station improvement works on the c2c route to help boost reliability and the passenger experience.

The A10 will be closed at Foxton for seven days over Christmas to allow Network Rail engineers to replace a deteriorating level crossing road deck and worn-out track.

Passengers across East Anglia are being reminded to check before travelling this Christmas as London Liverpool Street will be closed for eight days and engineering work will close all routes in the Cambridge area until 5 January.

As preparatory work of the Sizewell branch line is set to begin from January 2025, Network Rail is urging leisure walkers to stay off the tracks for their own safety.

Network Rail has awarded a £22 million contract to Morgan Sindall Infrastructure, to bring more light into London Liverpool Street by renewing the roof panels as well as improving the drainage system of station’s Victorian trainshed.
