On weekdays between Monday 6 July and Friday 17 July, railway engineers will be replacing 2km of old track on the single line near Berney Arms station, helping to boost long-term reliability.

The Office of Road and Rail (ORR) has given the final seal of approval for Cambridge South station to enter in to public service on Sunday 28 June 2026. 

As 'Rail Safety Week' takes place this week, attention is focused on the impact of trespass, vandalism and cable theft incidents on the railway. In 2025/26, these incidents resulted in more than 143,000 delay minutes and remain among the leading causes of disruption for passengers travelling across Anglia.

GBR Anglia is supporting Better Transport Week 2026, an annual campaign celebrating the benefits of public transport, shared transport, walking, wheeling, and cycling.

GBR Anglia, working with Commission Projects, have engaged Turner prize nominee (2006) Mark Titchner, to install a new public artwork at the soon to open Cambridge South station to celebrate its importance for the City of Cambridge. 

From June 2026, GBR Anglia will begin changes to station entrances at Southend East in Essex. This work will support the installation of new power supplies and systems for future lifts, helping make the station step-free and improve accessibility for passengers.

As part of the investment to make Chalkwell station step-free, customers will start to see changes to walking routes to access the platforms from the ticket hall in preparation for the removal of the existing station footbridge. 

The railway in Anglia is celebrating Pride Month by encouraging people to travel by train to Pride events taking place across the region this summer.
