Rail industry leaders have today published ‘Investing in the Future’, a report that will be a starting point for discussions with the Scottish Government and the public about the future of Scotland’s railway.

A railway bridge in Leeds is set to be repainted in rainbow colours as part of repair and strengthening work.

Network Rail has confirmed that a bridge which partially collapsed over the Midland Main Line in Leicestershire will reopen early next year.

Royal Wootton Bassett residents are invited to attend a drop-in event to find out more about the next steps to prepare three bridges in the town for the arrival of a new fleet of electric trains as part of its Railway Upgrade Plan.

From this Saturday (24 September) there will be no service between Gospel Oak and Barking (seven days a week) until February 2017 while work takes place to electrify the route ready for new trains that will carry twice as many passengers.
