Network Rail will be carrying out improvement work later this year in Prestatyn and is inviting the local community to meet the team delivering the work.

The work to renew fencing to the rear of Marion Road and Garnett Drive will mean that Network Rail are able to maintain a safe railway and help to ensure the safety of local residents who live near the railway.

Niran Akinjo, works delivery manager for Network Rail in Wales and Borders, said: "We would like to invite the local community to come along to our drop-in events to find out more about the work we are doing in Prestatyn.

"People who live by the railway are extremely important to us, and the work we are planning to do aims to address some of the concerns they have told us about.

"These improvements will help us to continue to run a safe, reliable railway as part of our Railway Upgrade  Plan."

The drop-in sessions will be held at the Church of the Holy Spirit, Victoria Road, Prestatyn, LL19 7SS, on Tuesday 29 May from 11.30am until 1.30pm, and 6pm until 8pm.

About Network Rail

We own, operate and develop Britain's railway infrastructure; that's 20,000 miles of track, 30,000 bridges, tunnels and viaducts and the thousands of signals, level crossings and stations. We run 20 of the UK's largest stations while all the others, over 2,500, are run by the country's train operating companies.

Usually, there are almost five million journeys made in the UK and over 600 freight trains run on the network. People depend on Britain's railway for their daily commute, to visit friends and loved ones and to get them home safe every day. Our role is to deliver a safe and reliable railway, so we carefully manage and deliver thousands of projects every year that form part of the multi-billion pound Railway Upgrade Plan, to grow and expand the nation's railway network to respond to the tremendous growth and demand the railway has experienced - a doubling of passenger journeys over the past 20 years.
