A special school in Oldbury is thrilled to be benefiting from volunteers from Network Rail who have transformed their school grounds.

Video footage has captured the removal of an old railway bridge as part of Network Rail’s £170m Lee Valley Rail programme to build a new track between Stratford and Angel Road stations. Due to be completed in 2019, the project will enable two extra trains per hour and help to boost regeneration in the boroughs of Haringey and Enfield.  

Engineers will shortly complete work on the £1.5 million refurbishment of the iconic Cutty Sark bridge over the A8 at Bargeddie as part of Network Rail’s Railway Upgrade Plan.

The reintroduction of cross-London Thameslink services through London Bridge has moved a step closer with the completion of new track and signalling between London Bridge and Blackfriars.

Engineers will be working around-the-clock this festive period to complete more than £15m-worth of infrastructure upgrades across Scotland as part of Network Rail's GB-wide Railway Upgrade Plan.

Residents living near the Wyre railway viaduct between Preston and Lancaster are invited to a drop-in event next week to find out more about upgrade work to the historic structure.
