Newly released images show major work taking place at Market Harborough station

Network Rail have released images showing the first phase of work install a new, accessible footbridge at Market Harborough railway station as part of the Midland Main Line Upgrade.
Last weekend (23/24 February), Network Rail engineers installed the deck of the footbridge, as well as one of the lift shafts.
To allow this work to take place safely, no trains were able to run on the line through Market Harborough. The second lift shaft will be installed next month, however, this work will have no impact on train services,
This is part of a wider project at Market Harborough which means quicker services with more seats at peak times, better car parking and improved facilities with better accessibility.
The project will also will see a six day rail closure between Tuesday, 28 May and Sunday, 2 June (inclusive), where the section of the Midland Main Line which runs between Kettering and Leicester will be closed, with no trains able to run on it. The footbridge will open to the public on Monday, 3 June when the line reopens.
