Network Rail has successfully completed a vital project to clean up fly-tipping on the railway in Chesterfield.

Network Rail has today published final plans to put passengers at the heart of an investment of more than £2 billion across the Wessex route – covering all services out of London Waterloo station and freight services out of the Port of Southampton - over the next five years.

Network Rail’s London-to-Carlisle region today unveiled its £5.7bn* plan to run a safe, reliable railway for its customers over the five years from 1 April 2019 (CP6**).

Network Rail South East has today published plans to spend a record £4.3 billion over the next five years.

Detailed plans for a multi-billion pound investment to improve the railway for passengers have been published by Network Rail today. The plans show how the company will spend over £42 billion to increase reliability and improve performance over the next five years.

Network Rail has today (Wednesday, 27 March) announced that an upgrade to the gateline leading to the main concourse at Leeds station will take place later this year in the next stage of investment.

Network Rail has completed a £57 million programme of upgrades on the Highland main line between Perth and Inverness.

Stations across Greater Manchester and Merseyside will see improvements this year as part of a £15 million investment by Network Rail.
