Network Rail statement in response to Passenger Rail Performance 2019-20 Q1
We welcome the move to a more accurate way of reporting performance information, which makes us more transparent and accountable to passengers and will continue to drive up reliability and punctuality. We are pleased that this first reporting of on-time measuring shows an improvement in performance, with more trains on time and fewer cancellations over the past few months.
Planning application for Forth Bridge Experience submitted
Network Rail has submitted a planning application to City of Edinburgh Council for proposals to install a bridge walk and visitor hub at the iconic Forth Bridge.
Bexleyheath line to close for 9-days in February 2020 for major engineering work
- 9-day closure on the Bexleyheath line from Saturday 15 – Sunday 23 February 2020, for a major work to protect passengers from landslips
- Engineers will remove thousands of tonnes of soil to reduce the incline of the cutting and build retaining walls with steel beams hammered six metres into the ground
- The work will protect this section of the railway line from landslips for 120 years
- Working with Southeastern, we will keep passengers moving by increasing services on other lines
