Customers are being reminded to check before they travel this Easter as Network Rail engineers work round-the-clock on vital upgrades that will benefit passengers for years to come

• West Coast main line passengers are urged to travel either side of the Easter bank holiday (Thursday 14 April and Tuesday 19 April)
• Between Good Friday and Easter Monday no trains will run to or from London Euston - services will start and finish at Milton Keynes
• Liverpool and Manchester City FA Cup semi-final fans should avoid rail travel to Wembley on Easter Saturday
• Easter £22m railway improvements will mean better future journeys for passengers and freight

Network Rail has provided a grant of £16,000 to a local community tree planting initiative in Perthshire, enabling 2000 native trees and shrubs to be planted. The grant was made through The Tree Council – a national conservation charity.

Network Rail has released images showing further progress on the new Inverness Airport station.

Network Rail engineers have completed a £7m project to improve the West Highland Line for passengers.

Engineers have worked 24/7 to reopen the Cambrian Line between Shrewsbury and Newtown on the first weekend of April, following flood damage caused by Storm Franklin in February. 

Work will soon start on re-decking the railway bridge on Nithsdale Road as part of the Barrhead electrification project.
