Today (Monday 25 July), essential work to upgrade a bridge in Oakley, Bedfordshire has begun, keeping it strong and reliable for drivers and passengers over future decades.

• Coordinated industry contingency plan will see a very limited timetable available on Wednesday (27^th), with around 20% of services running and some parts of the country with no rail services
• Special timetable for 27^th has now been published, with trains set to start later and finish much earlier than usual, between 7.30am and 6.30pm
• Passengers reminded to plan ahead, check before they travel, to expect disruption and only travel if necessary

Better facilities are now available for passengers at Market Harborough station, as Network Rail unveils the brand-new toilet block and waiting room today (Friday 22 July).

Network Rail has opened the brand-new facilities ahead of schedule on Friday 22 July - making the busy station more accessible for all passengers this summer.  

With less than a week to go passengers are being given top travel tips during the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

This weekend Network Rail engineers will begin work to renew the railway in Penge Tunnel, between Brixton and Beckenham Junction, where the line will be closed for nine-days.

More than 300 volunteers from across the rail industry will be helping visitors travelling by train to Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games venues.

Network Rail engineers will carry out around £5m of delay-busting upgrades between Axminster and Pinhoe from Monday 19 to Friday 23 September.
