• The Island Line will close from Ryde Pier Head to Shanklin between Friday 6 September and Sunday 6 October for vital maintenance
• Ryde Pier will close from Friday 6 September 2024 until May 2025 while life extension work continues
• One train every 30 minutes will operate between Ryde Esplanade and Shanklin from Monday 7 October to early May 2025
• Rail replacement bus services will operate during both closures

Network Rail is thanking passengers and the local community after it finished a key stage of a major project to replace a deteriorating bridge.

From today (Monday 5 August), the Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) is excited to announce that the application window for small grants (£1000 - £5000) as part of our newly launched community fund is now open.

Network Rail will shortly begin rail replacement work in the North Cotswolds area with passengers advised to check their journeys.

Engineers will be renewing over 1700 metres of track between Woodbridge and Westerfield junction over six days to improve passenger journeys and prepare the line to accommodate increased freight traffic.

Passenger trains are running again over Barnes Bridge, following a six-day closure of the Hounslow Loop line between Kew Bridge and Barnes.

Railway engineers are working to repair a unique sliding swing bridge which takes trains over a canal in Lincolnshire after a fault with its mechanism.

Some platforms in Piccadilly station will be closed to the public while engineers install new netting to the station’s iconic glass roof.
