A bridge over the Midland Lane Line in Leicestershire which partially collapsed earlier this month has reopened to pedestrians.

In less than one week’s time, passengers from Kent and south east London will be able to see the first two-thirds of the brand new concourse at London Bridge station. There will also be major changes to train services over the bank holiday and during the following three working days as no trains will run to or from Cannon Street. Passengers are urged to check before they travel to or from London Bridge.

The railway between Dover and Folkestone will reopen on Monday, 5 September following a nine-month project to repair the line.

Passengers to the south and west of London are reminded to check before they travel this August bank holiday as they are set to benefit from a wide range of improvements to the line out of Waterloo as part of Network Rail’s Railway Upgrade Plan.

Young people are being reminded of the dangers of playing on the railway after two teenagers stood in the middle of a Cheshire level crossing as a train approached, forcing the driver to come to an emergency stop.
