Passengers in the North West are being warned about a five-day closure of the railway which starts next weekend to renew a bridge over the Leeds Liverpool Canal.

A regular poppy seller at Charing Cross station was thanked this morning for thirty years of hard work supporting the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal.

Network Rail, TransPennine Express and Northern are working together to extend the platforms at seven stations on the Penistone line, with work starting at Huddersfield station on Wednesday, 20 November.

Greater Anglia passengers using the Wherry lines between Norwich and Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft in February 2020 are reminded to check before travelling as significant works will be taking place over 23 days to introduce a new computer-controlled signalling system. 

Manchester’s Christmas markets are back for 2019 and passengers are being urged to 'think in threes' when planning their journeys with record numbers expected to travel in and out of the city by train.
