Storm Ciara, which bought 90mph winds, extreme rainfall, and flooding across Wales, has caused extensive damage on the Conwy Valley Line, north of Llanrwst.

Network Rail has reopened the line in Kirkstall this afternoon (Monday, 10 February) after the railway was severely impacted by floodwater over the weekend.

Passengers are being urged to check before they travel as the railway continues to recover from Britain’s worst storm in seven years.

Ahead of work to cut back trees and vegetation on the railway between Pollokshaws and Barrhead, Network Rail is inviting local people to ‘drop-in’ to find out more about the work.
