Train services resume at Rotherham Central station following severe flooding over the weekend
Network Rail has reopened the lines at Rotherham Central station this afternoon (Monday, 17 February) following severe flooding to the railway.

UPDATE: Gospel Oak to Barking line freight derailment – Line to reopen Wednesday 19 February
Following good progress by engineers over the weekend, despite Storm Dennis, services on the Gospel Oak to Barking line are expected to resume on Wednesday 19 February.

Network Rail has today (Monday, 17 February) opened a new, longer platform at Market Harborough station, which will allow longer trains with more seats to call there.

New signalling system introduced on the Wherry lines
Over 130 years of signalling history came to an end today on the Wherry lines with the reopening of the Norwich to Yarmouth line following completion of work to introduce a new computerised signalling system, improving reliability of train services. A section of the East Suffolk line from Beccles to Lowestoft also reopened today.

- Flooding at Sway means no services between Bournemouth and Brockenhurst, plus severe disruption on the rest of the line
- Network Rail and South Western Railway (SWR) are advising passengers not to travel between Bournemouth and Brockenhurst unless absolutely necessary
- Bus replacement services, with a limited capacity, will call at stations between Bournemouth and Brockenhurst
- An hourly shuttle service will call at all stations from Weymouth to Bournemouth
- Passengers should check the South Western Railway website before travelling

Network Rail, Great Western Railway and CrossCountry are urging passengers in Somerset, Devon and Cornwall to check before they travel on Sunday, 16 February as flooding will mean the closure of the lines between Exeter St Davids and Taunton and Exeter St Davids and Barnstaple.
